I got a 68 inch Hampton Bay Altura Ceiling fan, I need a light kit for it and can't find it, where do I go?
I bought a 68 inch Hampton Bay Altura ceiling fan from Home Depot. It doesn't come with a light kit.
They do not have the proper light kits at Home Depot because the fan is too big, or the part where the fan goes into is too large.
They told me to go to Hampton Bay's website, and I can't find any specific light kit for that ceiling fan. I've called customer service but they keep telling me to look on the website.
Please help! My room is dark!
If I remember correctly, the cover where you install the light kit has 3 phillips head screws. Take them out (don't lose them) and take the cover to as many home improvement centers and electrical supply houses as you can find. You may be able to locate a light kit that is the same size without regards to the brand name. Also an electrical supply house may be able to direct you to an electrical appliance store that carries that brand. It is a well known brand and you may need help from the web site but those "*"*"* have a habit of changing and complicating their part numbers for the same items. Use the part number and model number in the "Contact Us" box and request an Email reply. (of course you can expect "We don't stock that item any more") for an answer.
