How can I be sure a coach handbag is authentic?
I am wanting to get my mother a coach handbag for her birthday. I don't really want to pay full retail but I'm a little fearful that I might not get authentic coach if I use ebay or another bargain route. Can you tell me how to be 100% certain I've gotten an authentic coach bag?
Hello. It's very difficult to know an authentic bag just from a picture alone. But here's a a tip if you are thinking about getting one online. Ebay is likely the ONLY place online you will get an authentic bag. All of those "wholesale" houses and such you see are fakes. Coach does not "wholesale" to anyone except designated, approved botiques and stores and NONE of them are online. You may find an occassional blog where an individual is selling a few authentic bags but your choices will be so limited.
Ebay really is a great place. You just have to be careful. The good guys far outnumber the bad on that site. Here's a link to a "Spotting Fake Coach on Ebay" book. Even if you don't buy the book there's a sign up form that will give you free tips on spotting fakes...pretty good stuff! Hope that helps!
